Giving Tuesdays #2

onhumanity.substack.com

Welcome back to Giving Tuesdays, a feature of On Humanity to support one another and those around us. As described here, every other week your requests or offers to this mutual exchange form will be posted here. Submit one anytime!

Below are responses that came in this past week. As you will see, they are very diverse. Caroline asks to support a friend’s medical expenses; Jeffrey and Emily have networking and coaching-related requests and offers; Nita’s editing and health coaching submission is carried over from last time. Please reach out to me if you would like to connect with either of these individuals; I will gladly facilitate the introduction.

Regardless of your location or level of need, if you are seeking even minor help in anything (or willing to offer to others) — such as a piece of advice on some matter — or a more significant kind of support, please fill out the form for your submission to be featured two weeks from now.

Caroline:

Request: Please help my friend with transport costs to the medical center. He's undergoing treatment for cirrhosis. Brutum has helped many people in his community, including assault survivors. Unfortunately he is unable to return to work now.

Jeffrey:

Request: Moving to Seattle -- just moved to South Lake Union, looking for friends and communities! Big fan of potlucks and small group convos like authentic relating!

- Have leads so far: effective altruism, rationality, ecstatic dance, contact improv
- Looking for: platonic touch, psychedelics/empathogens, co-living, third spaces, meditation, authentic relating

Offer: Software engineering mentorship, friendship, ADHD/ASD/etc

Emily:

Request: coaching (executive functioning, time management cuz my sleep schedule is terrible, enjoying things which is hard to do when you're always stressed about assignments or job searching), helping with a job search (thinking the best thing for me to do for my first job is to be a software engineer)

Offer: life debugging? coworking? I run the EA mental health and neurodivergence discord server

Nita Jain, podcast host/consultant (LinkedIn):

Request: Proofreading, video editing, co-working, soundboarding

Offer: Health coaching, soundboarding, podcasting advice

If you’d like your request or offer to be featured in a future Giving Tuesdays section of this publication, please submit the mutual support form; to be connected with one of the featured individuals, please leave a comment or email me. If you would rather not receive these twice-a-month Giving Tuesdays emails, but wish to remain subscribed to the main section of On Humanity, you may adjust your email settings here. Please consider inviting your friends or collaborators to this publication, the abundance.dev community, or the anyhumans podcast.
