Letters and gratitude :: Giving Tuesdays #6
Also: help out a reader's friend diagnosed with MS
Welcome back to Giving Tuesdays, a section of On Humanity to support one another and those around us. As outlined here, every other week your requests or offers to this mutual support exchange form will be posted here. Submit one anytime!
Today Substack announced a new feature, Substack Letters, which I found to be an admirable and apt initiative for this space. I’d like to offer anyone reading this the opportunity to host such online letter exchanges on a topic they are passionate about, within the blog’s scope, and you may use the same form (above) to seek and connect with a “pen pal.” The proposed model is very suitable for facilitating civil discourse on the human condition and sharing perspectives on the abundance mindset and giving, constituting the crux of this community and the associated anyhumans podcast.
Now, back to scheduled programming:
One of this blog’s readers, Fred Eder, a writer and full-time creator of Fred’s Front Porch Podcast (an inspiring podcast I’ve listened to since 2019, please check it out!), submitted the following last week:
“My best friend of nearly 14 years has recently been diagnosed with MS. We're doing a GoFundMe to help with her medical bills.
The GoFundMe is here:
https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-stephanie-manage-multiple-sclerosis”
For full disclosure, I am a Facebook friend of Fred Eder and can sense the urgency of the situation. If you are able to chip in to their team fundraiser for medical expenses, they would all be very grateful for your support!
In the spirit of Thanksgiving week, grateful to all of you for reading and for participating. Please be healthy and safe, and enjoy the holidays!
If you’d like your request or offer to be featured in a future Giving Tuesdays section of this publication, please submit the mutual support form or reach out. Please consider inviting a friend or more to this publication or to the anyhumans podcast as a guest or as a host.
